Free Speed Reading Course at DePaul University
Chicago, IL – September, 28 2008 – The Iris Organization offered a free speed reading class today to college students at DePaul University’s downtown Chicago campus. The free course was an introduction to speed reading and provided students with helpful tips and techniques to help them save time by reading faster.
As semesters progress, many students find themselves struggling to keep up with their reading. “We just want to help students stay on top of their reading,” said Paul Nowak, an instructor for Iris who taught Sunday’s class. “Many of the students in attendance today made improvements in their reading speed.”
A reading test was provided at the beginning and at the end of the course. Students took part in drills and exercises specifically geared towards helping them read faster.
The Iris Organization, based in Chicago, has taught speed reading courses throughout the United States to students and business professionals. The organization is also very active in the Chicago public schools, helping high school students learn more efficient reading skills.
